What is counselling?
Counselling is a confidential partnership between trained counsellors and clients aimed at improving mental health and understanding oneself better. Clients actively engage in the process, which can involve individuals, couples, families, or groups, and can be short-term or ongoing. Counsellors prioritise empathy and attentive listening to build trust and respect without judgment. The approach is evidence-based, using proven techniques to empower clients and facilitate positive change. Topics explored may include identity, relationships, past experiences, and mental health issues like depression or anxiety. Through counselling, clients may gain new perspectives, insights, coping skills, and make meaningful life decisions.
